Privacy policy

In short

  • This website does not use cookies or similar technologies (such as localStorage) and has no analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
  • There are no forms. I only handle your data if you email me.
  • Your data is used only to reply to you and, if we reach an agreement, to provide the service.

Data controller

What data I handle and why

When you email me (for example using the “Get a quote” button): your name, your email address and whatever you tell me in the message. I use it to reply, prepare a quote and, if you accept it, manage the job and its invoicing.

  • Legal basis: your consent when you write to me and, if there is a job, the performance of the contract or pre-contractual steps taken at your request (art. 6.1.a and 6.1.b GDPR). Tax and accounting obligations are based on a legal obligation (art. 6.1.c).
  • Retention: as long as needed to answer your enquiry. If there is a job, for the duration of the working relationship and afterwards for the periods required by law (for example tax obligations).

When you visit the website: the server that hosts it may technically log data such as your IP address, browser and the page requested, in order to serve the website and keep it secure. I don’t use these logs to identify you or to build profiles.

  • Legal basis: legitimate interest in providing a secure, working website (art. 6.1.f GDPR).

Who else may see your data

I don’t share your data with third parties unless required by law. Some providers process it on my behalf, as data processors:

  • Website hosting: Cloudflare, Inc. (Cloudflare Workers).
  • Email: Cloudflare Email Routing (forwarding) and Google (Gmail).

If any of them is outside the European Economic Area, the transfer is covered by the safeguards set out in the GDPR (for example adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses).

Cookies and third-party content

This website does not set any first- or third-party cookies and does not load resources from other domains: fonts and images are served from the website itself. That’s why there is no cookie banner.

Some projects may include a YouTube or Vimeo video. The video does not load until you press the play button: until then you only see an image served from this website. When you press it, your browser connects to YouTube (in its privacy-enhanced mode, youtube-nocookie.com) or Vimeo (with the “do not track” option), which may process data under their own policies.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction or deletion of your data, restriction of or objection to its processing and data portability, and withdraw your consent at any time, by writing to jcortada@jancortada.com.

If you think your rights have not been respected, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).

Changes

If the way data is handled changes (for example, if a form or an analytics tool is ever added), I’ll update this page and its date.
